Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how KHELLO ("KHELLO", "we", or "us") handles personal information when you use khello.net and its related AI character chat features (the "Service").

1. Information we collect

• Account information: email address and basic profile information made available when you sign in with Google or another supported sign-in method.
• Optional profile information: a name and age you choose to provide for conversation personalization. The age field is not identity or age verification.
• Conversation and story information: messages, AI-generated replies, conversation history, character relationships, memory summaries, stage progress, and unlocked situation images.
• Usage information: page views, feature interactions, character IDs, referral and campaign parameters, timestamps, and an anonymous browser identifier.
• Technical and security information: IP address, browser or device information, error logs, authentication events, and rate-limit or abuse signals.
• Guest trial information: a signed guest identifier stored in an essential cookie and the number of guest replies used.
• Purchase information: order and transaction references, purchased Ruby pack, credit amount, and fulfillment status. KHELLO does not receive full payment card details.

2. How we use information

• Provide accounts, guest access, character chat, memory, and cross-device history.
• Generate and personalize AI responses and story progression.
• Process purchases, credit Rubies, prevent duplicate credits, and handle refunds.
• Operate, secure, debug, measure, and improve the Service.
• Detect abuse, enforce our Terms, and comply with legal obligations.
• Respond to support, privacy, and account-deletion requests.

Where applicable, we process information to perform our contract with you, pursue legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, comply with law, or rely on consent where consent is required.

3. AI processing and conversation privacy

Conversation content is sent to an AI model provider, currently Google Gemini, to generate replies. Do not submit highly sensitive information that is not needed for your story. Conversations are not published to other users, but may be accessed by authorized service personnel or processors when reasonably necessary for support, safety, security, or service operation.

If optional ideal-type image analysis is enabled and you choose to use it, the image is sent to Google Gemini for non-identifying visual-style analysis. The raw image is not persisted by KHELLO, but non-identifying analysis metadata may be stored with your account.

4. Service providers

• Supabase: authentication, database, conversation storage, and character asset storage.
• Google: Google sign-in and Gemini AI processing.
• Vercel: website hosting, delivery, and technical logs.
• Lemon Squeezy: merchant of record, checkout, payment, tax, order, and refund processing.

These providers process information under their own agreements and privacy terms. We may replace a provider when needed to operate the Service and will update this policy if the change materially affects your privacy.

5. Sharing and international processing

We do not sell personal information and do not use third-party behavioral advertising. We share information only with service providers, when you direct us to, to protect rights and safety, in connection with a business transfer, or when required by law. Providers may process information in countries other than your own, subject to their safeguards and applicable data-protection requirements.

6. Retention and deletion

Account, conversation, and relationship data are generally retained while your account is active. Purchase and security records may be retained longer when required for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal compliance. Essential guest cookies may remain for up to one year, and browser local storage remains until it is cleared or replaced. Backups may take additional time to expire.

You may request account and associated data deletion by emailing muso27723@gmail.com. We may retain limited information when required by law or necessary to resolve fraud, billing, or security matters.

7. Cookies and browser storage

KHELLO uses essential authentication and guest-trial storage, plus local browser storage for unsynced conversations, preferences, and an anonymous analytics identifier. Blocking or clearing this storage may sign you out, reset guest or local state, or prevent parts of the Service from working.

8. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To make a request, contact muso27723@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request, and you may have the right to appeal or complain to your local data-protection authority.

9. Children's privacy

KHELLO is not directed to anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can review and delete it.

10. Security and policy changes

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. We may update this policy as the Service or law changes. We will post the revised date and provide additional notice when a material change requires it.
